Copywriters aim to solve client marketing challenges with an emphasis on messaging strategy, narrative, and technical writing.  The leverage their deep understanding of internet technology, trends, and culture, to lead insightful concept development and creative oversight efforts during campaign production.  

To accomplish this task, Copywriters exist within the Creative Department, organizationally reporting to the Director of the Creative Department while operationally (on a daily and project level) working underneath a brand account Creative Director.

A great Copywriter is perceived as an experienced and articulate talent that reliably solves creative marketing challenges and works independently to gain client approval. They intelligently lead projects through all phases of development, from research and pitching to engineering and delivery - acting as a skilled interface between client needs and production capabilities, ultimately working to ensure the success of their assigned campaigns.



  • Lead conceptual development and pitching efforts by writing and/or directing strategically driven creative messaging concepts and content.
  • Lead the creation of client approved messages and themes that succeed across mediums, formats, and campaign types.
  • Lead client-facing conversations focused on the development of campaign messaging and assets.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with both Design and Engineering staff, ensuring that concepts meet the requirements of both departments.
  • Maintain and promote an internal awareness of industry creative trends and standards with a strong focus on processes and tools.
  • Support fellow creative staff in the production of feasible branded content that exceed client expectations and goal metrics.
  • Facilitate creative development by providing detailed direction, feedback and constructive criticism to design, development, and motion staff.
  • Interface with clients gracefully on topics involving creative strategy and messaging.
  • Advise production staff on timing and feasibility requirements.
  • Promote positive creative culture through teamwork and leading by example.


3+ years of agency copywriting experience for national or global brands.
