JOB SUMMARY

 

Hook is a creative company that aims to make technology more accessible to brands and their audiences.  To accomplish the goal, we need the help of digital Creative Designers.

Creative Designers aim to solve client marketing challenges by emphasizing visual solutions over technical, messaging, or media ones.  Their exceptional experience with both UX and Visual Design allows them to be conceptual without sacrificing their ability to be executional.  

To accomplish this task, Creative Designers exist within the Design Department while working very closely with the Creative Department, purposefully blurring the line between disciplines.  In fact, the primary distinction between a Creative Designer and a Creative Director is the former’s maintained focus on execution over client and concept management.

A great Creative Designer is perceived as an invaluable talent that trades ownership of a single campaign for an insightful influence over many.  They nimbly participate in all phases of campaign development, from pitching to development - ultimately supporting Creative campaigns by elevating the visual and interactive quality of everything they touch.

 

Responsibilities

 

Lead conceptual pitching efforts by creating visually and functionally inspiring concepts and content.

Lead the creation of production-ready comps and assets that support multiple screen sizes and formats.

Maintain a positive relationship with both Creative and Technology staff, ensuring that visual designs meet the requirements of both departments.

Support client-facing conversations focused on the development of visual assets.

Maintain and promote an internal awareness of industry design trends and standards with a strong focus on processes and tools.

Mentor and support junior design staff toward the goal of accelerating skill progression through a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

Expert knowledge of Photoshop & Illustrator

Savvy in latest design and technology trends

Proven experience in a technology, advertising, or design agency

Must have an intricate emotional connection to the Internet and understanding of how people use it

Have a portfolio with work (personal projects welcome) that demonstrates a deep understanding of digital design or interactive experiences

Proven ability to articulate your creative thinking

Be unafraid to ask for feedback as you’re consistently striving for improvement

Interpersonal skills and boundless optimism
